Apple’s second generation tablet is now up for grabs at the Philippine Apple online store. The iPad 2 went on sale last week here in the country and now Apple is giving consumers another alternative on where to buy the iPad 2 tablet. Although orders bought at the online store will take 1-2 weeks of shipping time. Apple Premium resellers are also open to sell limited units starting today according to reports. You can purchase the iPad 2 at Power Mac Center stores in Greenbelt 3, SM Mall of Asia (MOA), SM Megamall, The Annex at SM City North EDSA and TriNoma.

The long awaited Apple iPad 2 tablet will officially be arriving here in the Philippines on April 29, 2011 at selected retail stores here in the country. If you’ve been longing for the thinner version of its predecessor, then this will be the time to line up and camp earlier as stocks are expected to be limited. Although you can purchase the iPad 2 on Apple PH site, but you’d have to wait for a couple of days for it to be shipped. According to Apple’s official press release, the iPad 2 will arrive in Japan on Thursday, April 28 and Hong Kong, India, Israel, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey and United Arab Emirates on April 29. iPad 2 will be available at Apple retail stores at 9 a.m. local time on selected Apple Authorized Resellers, and online through the Apple Store beginning at 1 a.m.

The iPad 2 boasts an entirely new design that is 33 percent thinner and up to 15 percent lighter than the original iPad, while maintaining the same stunning 9.7-inch LED-backlit LCD screen. iPad 2 features Apple’s new dual-core A5 processor for blazing fast performance and stunning graphics and now includes two cameras, a front-facing VGA camera for FaceTime and Photo Booth, and a rear-facing camera that captures 720p HD video, bringing the innovative FaceTime feature to iPad users for the first time. Apple Store Philippines is currently dropping down the retail price of the 1st-gen iPad by 4,000 pesos, which is good news for the budget-minded consumers who are planning to buy a tablet this month. The local price of the iPad first-gen has gone down to as low as P19,990 for the 16GB with Wifi tablet following the announcement that the iPad 2 will be released in stores within this month in the U.S.
