The Inventec 10.1-inch V10 laptop, one of the cheap laptops out in the Chinese market today. It is powered by a VIA C3 1GHz processor, 128MB of memory and a 20GB hard drive. The V10 has only Ethernet port and comes without WiFi. It is priced at 1600 Yuan, which is about $230 USD. Well this cheaptop is not bad for personal use and affordability; you could replace your low cost laptop once you’ve spared extra bucks for a Dell Mini Inspiron.

Although Dell hasn’t unveiled yet this latest laptop to the public, Brian Lam of Gizmodo caught a glimpse of the Dell Mini Inspiron, their first mini laptop as he bumped into Michael Dell at All Things D. The mini-notebook shown to him by the American businessman and founder of Dell, Inc., has 3 USB ports, a card reader, VGA out, Ethernet, and a “red candy shell”. According to Brian, Dell’s CEO wouldn’t tell him the laptop’s OS, and even the pricing, although he stated that it’s a low-cost notebook meant for developing countries. Wow!

I just hope it’s true that this is really a low-cost notebook cause developing countries such as the Philippines look forward to the latest portable devices like this on the market. This latest laptop will surely be an Eee PC killer.
